A special medieval setting in a green haven

Where the Loire and the Cher rivers merge, our 15th century manor, surrounded by seven hectares of wooded land, welcomes you and lets you discover its rich past.
Foncher has a long history, the first traces of which date back to the beginning of the 10th century. As a fief belonging to the Château of Tours, it was notably a priory, property of the Abbey of Marmoutier and under the authority of Henry II, King of England.
Restored in 1963, the Manoir de Foncher, ‘stamped’ by the Plantagenets, is now listed in the Directory of Historic Monuments.
Our manor and its medieval setting will provide you with a unique and out-of-time experience: canted tower, wooden gallery, wood beam ceilings, giant fireplaces and antique furniture.
As you enter, you cannot miss the large convent table, at the foot of a classic half-timbered partition, facing a monumental fireplace. Climb the spiral wood stairs to reach your rooms via the wooden gallery. From here, the view of the gardens and grounds sits alongside the calm waters of the Cher, with nature all around – ideal for a walk or to take in as you rest.
Join us for your stay in the Loire Valley and enjoy the natural beauty and the cultural wealth of our region.
See you very soon!
